Current Goal

This coin is being released as part of the Todie's Wild Ride Bike Awareness Project initiated by Rockin Roddy in response to the death of his good friend Tod Phillips. On August 12, 2008, Tod was riding a motorcycle when he was killed in an accident caused by a left turning vehicle. Tod was one third of Team Rod & Tod w/KAboom. This coin is released in his memory and in memory of all motorcyclists killed on the road. As part of this coins journey, I would like to collect different tips for drivers to be more aware of motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. Feel free to add any tips you wish to the logs to share with others.

About This Item

TWR LE Copper Green Glitter 250x250

DO NOT KEEP THIS COIN!
This coin is part of a huge mission to raise awareness of bikes (both motorized and human powered) on the roadways.
Many motorists ask themselves this question AFTER an accident involving a motorcycle; WHY DIDN'T I SEE THAT MOTORCYCLE?
The biggest thing is that motorcycles are much smaller and harder to see than motorcycles. This is the leading cause of auto vs. motorcycle accidents. So we as drivers need to be more aware of the fact that motorcycles ARE harder to see. So we need to take the responsibilty and make sure that we are more aware of our surroundings and especially that we are more aware of the many motorcycles around us on the road.
