What is Burning Man?
Trying to explain Burning Man to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind. Everyone gets something different out of it. For some, Burning Man is an arts festival, music festival, a spiritual reconnection, or a week of extreme camping in the desert. To others, it is a social experiment in community and sharing. For more information, visit www.burningman.com.
Burning Man has Ten Guiding Principles. There were five Black Rock Beacon Geocoins minted for each Principle.
This coin represents Civic Responsibility
We value civil society. Community members who organize events should assume responsibility for public welfare and endeavor to communicate civic responsibilities to participants. They must also assume responsibility for conducting events in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
