If you think Indians lived in tepees, you might want to check out Chief Vann Historic Site. The Vann House is a beautiful 2 1/2 story brick home built by Cherokee leader and businessman James Vann. Vann's son was forced out of the mansion and ordered west, onto the infamous Trail of Tears in the 1830s. Today the Vann House survives as Georgia's best-preserved historic Cherokee Indian home. The park has 6 picnic tables for your convenience.
