Destination: North Stratford (or within a happy day trip distance!), New Hampshire, USA
Comments: Surface travel only, please. No flying...
Hallo!
Hi!
While “Transatlantico” doesn’t exactly want to travel from Rotterdam to New York, he does want to get to the other side of the great Atlantic Ocean. As an added quirk, he wants to do it without using airplanes. So get him to a port with geocaching seafarers…
His parents are leaving soon for a similar journey, moving from Freiburg, Germany to northern New Hampshire, USA. It’s a long way. And since they've been lifelong nomads and have undertaken this trip several times already – even by ship! – they thought this geocoin was just the thing.
The starting point is also quite remarkable: a cache up in the vineyards above Freiburg/St. Georgen, near where the two have lived and roamed for nearly 5 years. This nifty little multi (Der Silberne Ballon), too, has a global travel theme having to do with balloon adventures… so what could be more fitting?
Whether it will take 80 days or much longer – it will be exciting to follow Transatlantico’s travels and to see which route (east?) he might take. In any case, they all dearly hope to be reunited some day at a cache somewhere near the source of the Connecticut River.
Thanks for being part of this great, old-fashioned adventure!
