Current Goal

A true Navigator, the goal of ALTAIR is to tour the World visiting as many caches as possible along the way. I'd like to see him get up to Alaska and down into the Islands of the Carribean, (Korea, Russia, China, The Orient?) and then come home again to Pittsburgh. Please log any interesting stories of its epic journeys.

About This Item

Altair on the Road

The bug is a 2" diameter metallic casting - a rendition of a compass rose. Didn't have a digital camera, so if a finder can supply a photo, This bug would be very appreciative.

Picked up Altair, expecting to take him up to E. Lansing, but we got rained out. An acquaintance of mine is flying to Anchorage, on Memorial Day, and could drop Altair off at a cache there in hopes of being picked up and moved farther west. Another remote possibility is to find someone heading to Asia -- I have lots of friends who go there. Any preferences? Email me. Plane leaves for Anchorage on Monday and I plan to drop Altair off this weekend with a loaner Maggie GPS. I'll try to get a photo of Altair in Ann Arbor and post it, shortly.

Saw Altair in a cache just a few miles away this morning and saw that he wanted to visit the Carribean. We are headed there in a couple of weeks so I retrieved him and will take pictures to post of him enjoying the fun and sun.

Found ALTAIR on a beautiful warm day in Knox County, Ohio along the Kokosing Gap trail in a great cache along the Kokosing River. ALTAIR is in great shape and is now in Michigan with A2hobo, hopefully, to be placed in a Michigan cache in the next week or so.
