Current Goal

Monkton Mole's mission is to travel the world collecting interesting educational facts and pictures about the places he visits which he can send back via this web site to the children at Monkton Park School in Chippenham, England. He would also very much like to visit other schools and have his picture taken with the teachers and children.

About This Item

Monkton Mole

Monkton Mole (Moley to his friends) is the mascot and logo of Monkton Park School in Chippenham, England. For many years Moley has spent his holidays travelling with teachers and children from the school and has sent back photos and postcards from all over the world.

Moley has now decided to branch out on his own using the services of friendly geocachers to convey him from place to place.

Monkton Mole began his new adventure in Summer 2003 to celebrate the 2003 Year 6 class ending their time at the school and moving up to Secondary School.

Retrieve It from a Cache 10/11/2008 geowizerd retrieved it from Lilly Mountain #2 Mud Puddle Road Pennsylvania   Visit Log

My son Daniel (5th grade) and I retrieved Moley from the "Lilly Mountain #2 Mud Puddle Road" Geocache on October 11, 2008. This cache is in a remote State Game Lands hunting area in west-central Pennsylvania, at an elevation of about 2700 feet. Daniel will be taking him to Portage Elementary School this week, and we will post pictures of his adventures there.

UPDATE:

Daniel took Moley to Portage Elementary School, where his science class discussed geocaching, GPS technology, and different cultures. Unfortunately, they would not take a group picture with him, because of some sort of silly privacy rule. We have, however, posted a picture of Moley and Daniel in front of the school, and a view of the valley from the school.
