Always after me buried treasure... MamaMia and I weighed anchor, put on our landlegs, and ventured deep into the arroyo. We'd heard many a tale of treasures buried in these distant lands. I disregarded most, but one recent accounting of a place I had once been seemed far too accurate to be wrong...
Upon arrival, we looked for all the signs, and once aligned, the location of the treasure became apparent.

Pizza, caching tales, friends new and old... and a hug from Deedlebug. I had a great time trading cache notes, swapping pathtags and meeting, sweetpea.

Visited 6/7/2023 tom4props took it to San Gabriel Peak California - 16.02 miles  Visit Log

I hiked up from Eaton Saddle and caught my first glimpse of the summit when a hole in the blanket of clouds broke open around San Gabriel Peak. From that point, I had a ten minute walk to the top, which was just above the clouds. This was a welcome change and I basked in the mid-morning sun while at the same time, taking in the view, and... it is a dramatic view when surrounded by clouds.
After about 20 minutes, I found a good path over to ground zero and located the container before the sun disappeared. Great cache location. The clouds returned while I was still at ground zero, so I got a cool misty walk back down.

Visited 2/8/2023 tom4props took it to The Man Who Loved The Bunnies California - 10.91 miles  Visit Log

Beautiful day... I took the trail up from Lake Hollywood, enjoying great weather and views the entire way. After arriving at stage one and deriving the final coordinates, I continued on and grabbed a few more caches before heading to the final. 👍
I had a great view from ground zero, including the old Ooper's cache location, Lake Hollywood, L.A., Santa Monica, the Pacific Ocean and so on... FAV for the great views and fun location alone. 😛

Visited 10/5/2022 tom4props took it to How to Find a Mystery Cache Adventure Lab Bonus California - 156.31 miles  Visit Log

This is one adventure lab mystery bonus that, hands down, deserves a BIG FAV... Well done! Bravo! 😁
I love the lab location and the accompanying stops plus... I learned many new things along the way... I had never heard of the great website available to aid in solving mystery caches nor the expansive universe of possibilities to consider. The information, tutorials and practice samples at each stop were very helpful. 👍
Finally, my walk to the final location on this beautiful afternoon was quite enjoyable and it provided multiple vantage points of the original location. 😛

Visited 6/22/2022 tom4props took it to Where's the Badgers? California - 210.02 miles  Visit Log

8760 ft. The road is very well maintained most of the way and the rest is currently in great condition, so I drove up in a Subaru Outback and it was a very enjoyable drive with interesting scenery, mineral deposits and climate zones. 😛
Ground zero was a true park & grab and if there had been any livestock around, I could even have loaded up a steer. Neat location. I didn't notice any badgers either, when crossing Badger Flats. 😉

Visited 5/25/2022 tom4props took it to LNT California - 234.68 miles  Visit Log

MamaMia and I walked over from our site in South Camp after breakfast this morning, taking only pictures and leaving no trace, except for our footprints on the trail (LNT). 😛
Inside Big Sur Station, we met Crystal, who handed me the cache, and Tim. They gave us great recommendations on local hikes, the best routes and even, scenic vantage points. 😁
From the station, Sue and I retraced our steps back down the Pine Ridge Trail and headed over to the newly rebuilt and recently opened Pheiffer Falls and Valley View Trailhead; we made a counterclockwise loop of it. The trail work since the fire (including brand new steps, bridges and fencing) is remarkable... 👍
While returning from Valley View, I spotted a buck, which allowed me and a few others to watch it while grazing for a few moments. I often see does and sometimes fawns but rarely bucks... Later, at dusk, I came upon yet another buck over by the old Homestead. 😛
Anyway, before returning the cache to Crystal and Tim, I made sure to sign the logbook and drop a few pathtags. 😉

Visited 5/20/2022 tom4props took it to Pleasant Fishing California - 216.33 miles  Visit Log

I took a walk down from a very powerful place to the north... beautiful wide spot in the river. I climbed the hill, reached ground zero, and took a look around... what a view of the river from there! 😛
It took a couple minutes to find the exact spot and... Presto! Great choice of container and placement... sure to last a very long time. I signed the logbook and made a trade...

Visited 5/11/2022 tom4props took it to Mystery Wall Multi California - 157.86 miles  Visit Log

I took a seat behind the mystery wall and went to work, finding all the answers that would in short order, lead me to the big payoff... once I had my destination figured, I checked my waypoint on certitude and, Bingo... a green light. 😁
I then took the scenic hike over to ground zero where I soon spotted an enchanting hiding spot... Very nice! I signed the log and made some trades. 😛

Visited 5/5/2022 tom4props took it to Cacti on Dune Loop California - 168.04 miles  Visit Log

Beautiful day... Sue and I brought along a picnic lunch and spent most of the afternoon at Spooner's Cove. Amazing Purple Lupine blooms everywhere. 😛
