Somebody asked about what is depicted on the coin:
The drawing on the coin is a Phoenix.
Thinking about it ... if it makes it , by coincidence, to Phoenix/Arizona and have a photo taken together with the place name sign (or anything else or anybody with the name PHOENIX on it), that would be really, really cool.
It is part of the cachekinz series "Legendary creatures" and ... if you log it properly, you collect a new icon for your trackable's list, because they come with their own, different one . Was a nicer one in the past, though.
Other from that:
Travel & be logged. No more (but no less, either).
However, just wrote for the umtieth time this mail....
I do care about this coin and do not regard it as "thrown into the garbage bin" the moment it is placed in its first cache.
This on many a forum promoted attitude might contribute to the loss of coins: Some owners declare to not to care about their trackables anyway and to be not interested in checking out the page for the logs and/or pictures. Confirming not-logging as acceptable behaviour?
Why should any cacher then go to the lengthy efforts of writing a nice log or add pictures? Not to talk about logging it properly, in the first place.
Most geocachers try to treat the trackables they encounter nice and neat. Part 1 of the Green group of the Red & Green Series.
I thank all of those who contributed to let the coins, TBs and me have a good time in 2010:
-
logging them with some more info;
-
moving them;
-
adding pictures;
-
even go to the special effort of sending an e-mail with some more information;
-
exchange of letters to get them back in shape again;
-
offering travel options on time
-
picking up the tb-rescue note;
-
....
A very special thank you to those who rescued a trackable to get it back on the road again and those who (tried to) conclude the mission

Please:
NO events
(if the intention is to leave it in a bucket, kayak, back of a car or other mass storage. Handing it over to a fellow cacher is fine)
NO TB Hotels
(at least none which require a minimum number of trackables being present or are located at unsafe places. Hotels which are clever made and are no prisons are fine)
"Do not steal"
(sorry for this remark, but more and more cachers, even the well seasoned, seem to be in dire need to enlarge their collection - or simply do not grasp the concept of mine/yours and trackables)

Hi mt0319,
you seem to have taken my coin http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?tracker=TB3QKAE along.
If so, then "discover" is not the correct log type, but "retrieve from Critter Creek". Please correct your log, so the coin is
a) not any longer listed as being present in the cache "Critters", but in your hands
b) you can "drop" the coin properly. You can only "drop" it if it is in your hands.
Not logging the coins and TBs properly very often causes them to be lost. You wouldn't want that to happen to your own trackable, would you?
Please do NOT just dump it in a cache. Please log it properly.
Thanks.
Cheers,
harraps
