I almost always "visit" my 10-10-10 coin at events that I attend. This was no different. A fun Christmas themed event and WE, those who attended, received the gifts from Dale and Barb. I got three cammoed 2 liter preforms, complete with logs, to hide as my own caches. I've already put one out there as a ??? Cache ๐Ÿ˜‰

Seeing as the date is what it is, my 10/10/10 coin just had to come along and "VISIT" the event with me. I guess next year we'll have to find a 12/12/12 event and that will be the last SPECIAL event to visit. Don't guess I'll still be around in 2111 when 11/11/11 rolls around again. Maybe my great grandchild will be out caching and they will carry my coin with them ๐Ÿ˜‰

I LOVE interesting caches - every now and again, a lightpole cache is fine, but I really enjoy the ones that make you step back and think. This one did that... we thought and thought and thought and still had to "Phone A Friend" before we were able to make the find. This little 10/10/10 geocoin travels with me and is only "dipped" in caches/events that are special and I feel are WORTHY for the coin to visit. This was one of the best caches I've seen in quite some time, so seemed right that we should stop in for a visit. Poor little coin, has been bouncing back and forth between Florida and Maryland for several months. At least it's gotten to go over to Lido Key for a few visits ๐Ÿ˜‰

Up in Maryland for Joe Long's funeral and decided that after a couple of crazy days, being inside most all day, we had to get out in to the woods and grab a few caches. This cache was right along side Sligo Creek Park (lots of memories there) and up in to the woods a way. As I was walking up the hillside to GZ, I startled half a dozen deer and they went leaping away. When the kids were small, we built a snowman and named his Herb, not too far from where this cache was located. Thought it would be nice to pass my 10/10/10 coin through here!!

Aaaaah... another wonderful vacation spent on Lido Key. We have totally fallen in love with this place and have stayed at The Helmsley Sandcastle once in each of the last three months ๐Ÿ˜‰ What's not to love with the beautiful beach right at your door, the calm waters of the Gulf and the wonderful company of my husband. This trip, we celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary!!!

Out caching with Sarah this morning and this was one of my favorite finds. What a beautiful little parked, tucked in to the middle of a neighborhood. This is the kind of area that I'd have never discovered if it weren't for geocaching. Would love to come back here with Anna and the camera!!

Headed back to Lido Key for a few days R & R, and to celebrate Michael and Matthew's birthdays. We'll have dinner with the Dudley's on Wednesday, but until then, we're just going to chill out on the beach and soak up some sun!! Hope to get a little caching done while we're over here ๐Ÿ˜‰

I always love caches that are out on the water - went 'yaking to this one today with Sarah, Sally and Lee. A beautiful day to be out in the "Big Yellow Boat" and we found "HUEY" after it had been sitting with no finds since early October, 2010. Poor little neglected cache!!!

Headed for New Smyrna Beach today to watch the FINAL Space Shuttle launch ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Such a sad occasion, but decided as long as we were over here, we needed to grab a few caches while we waited to hear whether the launch was a GO. The weather was pretty "iffy". NASA polled all the directors and everything, including the weather, was cleared. With 31 seconds left on the countdown clock, the launch was put on hold. It was cleared quickly and the Shuttle was soon soaring for the heavens. It was VERY difficult to see the Shuttle because there was sooooooo much cloud cover, but there was still that ROAR that up the coast and wraps you up in it. That sound, following the launches, has always sent shivers down my spine!! Living in Central Florida, we have been lucky enough to see dozens of launches, many that were more spectacular than todays. It was the end of an era!!!

What a great even today - took along my coin, but there was no table set up to "Discover" TBs. I didn't want to leave it anywhere, so I just "dropped" it and then "retrieved" it again. I don't trust this Geocoin out and about, so afraid someone would steal it.
