Current Goal

The Bergmannskuh was born on a rainy Sunday in the Sauerland and loves hilly ground.

The Highland cattle on the neighbouring meadow in the Village told her great stories about Scotland and its landscape - THERE she wants to go! Of course plenty of pictures should be taken on the road so the relatives at home can follow her travels.

About This Item

20130816_181447

"Bergmannskuh" (Miners Cow) was a jokingly name for a house goat in the German Area Siegerland.

Goat rearing contributed to supply the miners and their families with milk. For many miners and their families livestock and fruit and vegetables were needed to the meager wages, especially in the construction period of the mining industry in the 19th Century and early 20th Supplement century. For a "real cow" was usually neither space nor money available.

On the meadow across the road from my house still graze goats, so that I have chosen a "Bergmannskuh" as Trackable.
