This is the cache. I mean THE cache. The cache. This has been such a double treasure that we’ve been keeping off for so long, I’m thrilled to finally claim this find!
I did not feel like going out today. But things were sort of set in stone, to be honest. I’ve keyed in a geotrip on this day several weeks in advance, knowing that today we had to go out to geocache. What I had not planned for was my day going to **** already at 6:20 in the morning; reading my emails in bed gave me the first bad news of the day. It would be a day to behold. Plans went south pretty quickly even after an enjoyable longer weekend, and I was not expecting to be at work for 11 hours. But so be it; Laura left considerably earlier, which I’m thankful for. But as I knew I had to visit at least two caches, I decided to dip into our ‘rainy day’ fund of geocaches, as it meant I wouldn’t have to venture far.
Visiting six caches today, I was pretty convinced I would not end up coming here, even though it was the original goal of the day, planned a week or two in advance. I left work not in a good mood, wanting to cancel the plans, but after visiting four caches, my mood turnt and I could only thank geocaching for that. Though the sky was dark and rain seemed to be in the air, I checked the radar to see that it was heading away from the location I would head to. And so I ended up giving this a shot. While parking garage caches seem to be popular in Malaysia, Laura does not appreciate them much. But this stash was special in size and type, and so I knew this was one to visit and be worth it. I came to KLCC, not knowing what to expect. I find that I should detail the actual search the shortest, within this story, ironically. What I will say is that it took me a few elevator rides to get to the right floor, but then had to walk through restricted staircases for about 10 minutes back and forth for a while. I ended up in the part of the underground where mortals simply don’t get; while security cameras seemed ever present, I can’t believe I was not detained. Up and down, back and forth, through alleyways, under ducts, within tunnels, and in the loading bays…. It took me about 30 minutes to find my way to the initial spot.
Nothing seemed to lead me there, until suddenly I just appeared there. Finding the first NFC tag was surprisingly easy, but it was there that I found out my iPhone cannot read them natively. To my relief and shock, I had full service here and was able to download a third party app which worked perfectly on iPhone, and I’d recommend to any Apple users heading this way. The second and third part went smooth like butter, and apart from the initial hiccup, I had no more issues along the way. Well, apart from opening the cache. The listing inventory lists 10 trackables currently here, unfortunately not a single one is actually here. That was the last and biggest bummer, as I had planned to drop a TB here. I decided to keep you with us, as this is clearly a stash where TBs go missing from. Let’s see if we can find you a better cache to stay in for a while…!
