I was pretty sure I’d be able to find this one with Laura by my side and with this cache being renewed. I visited and drafted a DNF, and then had the nasty surprise of some people logging a find here even though the cache was confirmed missing. When the CO replaced it a few weeks ago, I was excited to come back, as there are not many WIGos in the city. However coming back again; we searched all possible spots and again came up empty-handed. This struck a bit of a sour note for me, as our 20th anniversary could have used this cache type! Aw well; we’ll have to try yet another time after the CO can replace the container.

This is the third time I’ve been here, and I hoped that with Laura’s eyes, we might be able to see something. Unfortunately, even the two of us were not lucky and did not find the stash.

Glad to have a find; this was a park & grab stash which Laura hopped off to get as we were driving into Brickfields. It seemed fitting to stop at the stash welcoming us as we returned, here Laura was able to find the stash without issue. Glad we could stop by, today on our 20 year anniversary!

No find here. Today we start unlucky; the museum is closed for over a year and the cache seems to be gone…

The last find of the day was this literal park & grab we stopped at on the way from the park. After finishing off our second walk in the nearby park and heading for a late lunch, I realized we had passed this cache on the way here and didn’t stop for it, so why not do that now! My instincts knew exactly where to look, and soon enough Laura had the container in hand. It didn’t give up without a fight, as the magnet was strong indeed!
We opened it up and I quickly realized that this might be a great place to drop a TB. Not only is it relatively a busy area, but it’s finally a container larger than a nano or bison tube; something you don’t see very often in Malaysia. Actually, come to think of it, this is the biggest container we’ve seen in nearly a month, and that meant it was time to say goodbye. We brought a TB here from Europe, and left it here, but decided against dropping more than one bug here, and so you’ll continue with us for just a little while longer.

Unfortunately, no find here. A second time we’ve returned to this location, and at first muggles did not make the search easy, but then even after trying some special tactics to get them away, we searched for a good 20 minutes and weren’t able to find the stash.

A second DNF avenged at this cache. When we were here just a few months ago, the nano was missing. Recently, it was replaced by the CO, so we were happy to return and make the find here!

Moving a little bit closer, we started a second walk from the same place we started our first walk when we visited this park a few months back. Today the weather was a little easier, and we were happy to find this stash. A little off its coords, but an obvious place to find the bison tube. All good here at the lake, I also quickly snapped a photo of this TB while here! What a nice walk!

Finally coming back to this park, I saw that this cache had a few new logs so it was back in play. We avenged our DNF and successfully found this tiny cache.

The final cache of the day. We had a very lovely dinner at a nearby foodhall/hawker center which was on Laura’s POI list for a while. A different kind of foodie place, this is something we looked forward to, and in the end had an absolutely great evening there. Bellies stuffed and the rain finally settling, we could head out dry and ready for bed. Since the area had three caches around, I wanted to obviously stop at all three, but Laura was tired and said we can stop at one. Righty on!
I chose this stash as the end of our evening; we parked nearby and realized that we had been here before. Just about 20 days ago, we met our friends who flew in from Myanmar at a nearby restaurant; and we actually searched for this cache. What I don’t know is why I didn’t log a DNF back then, as I’m always sure to detail our searches. Today however, we were a little more successful. After five minutes of no idea where to search, and having a DNF from about 2 hours ago on a similar overpass, thing became glum. However, reading through the logs, it was the last log which actually gave me the right few words which sparked the idea that was it. And just as that helpful comment mentioned, I very quickly uncovered the little cache. The logbook is in good condition; we inked our name into it, and headed home. What a good day this has bee, thank you for going on this afternoon trip with us!
