Extraterrestrial encounters....
This coin commemorates our ET Series marathon cache run in November 2010.
Day 1 - Arrived LV 1:30 and started caching @5:10 (sunset at 4:30). Cached until frozen at 8pm with 65 total. Tough to tell the cow piles from rock piles in the dark. Had several people stop to see if we were OK. We think all but 1 were earthlings.
Day 2 - Cold, wind (Rachel had 62mph gust!), rain. Started later than planned and spent way too long at the A'le Inn enjoying the company, eating Alien burgers, and warming up. They have a bucket of spare cache containers & logs and are super cacher-frienly. Beautiful rainbow followed us all day. 477 total.
Day 3 - Grabbed the 1st cache at 7:30 am, just as the snow started. Snow changed to sleet and hail throughout the day. Had to dig some caches out of the snow and chip others out of ice with a pointy rock (new caching tool). Slid back to the hotel and celebrated the victory of 1,021 caches in 3 days.
Incredible scenery and sense of peace. Saw one beautiful coyote and numerous aliens disguised as cows - many who stood in the middle of the road in hopes of an earthing/vehicle encounter. They are very difficult to see at night!
