Current Goal

I maintain records on my trackables. For a US-based trackable, this one is unusual for its longevity and movement. In the six-year period, 2010-19, the owner released a total of 3,793 trackables in the United States (96%) and Europe (4%). This trackable is one of the 5% of the total that circulated for at least 5 years and had been moved at least 25 times. That is a target rate of at least five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days. The average drop rate of my trackables in the US is 124 days, in Europe it is 71 days. As of 23-Nov-23 this trackable had survived for 11.9 years and had been moved by 69 cachers, for an average drop every 63 days, or 5.8 drops per year. Please keep it moving, then drop it in a safe place!

No permission is needed to leave the U.S. While in the U.S., please drop it at an event, in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban, non-premium cache. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and dry, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.

About This Item

ZurichCard

One of the real bargains in Europe is the public transportation, particularly for visitors.  One can typically purchase passes like this one for specific periods, like 1, 3 or 7 days, at reduced rates.  In many places we have traveled, the transportation passes may include trains, subways, buses, trams, cable cars, lifts, funiculars and boats.  In Zurich we got around on subways and trains.  On our last day there we rode one of the boats that hauls commuters to stops around Lake Zurich.

Viděn v keši "Landek trošku jinak"; pěkný TB! 😌
Seen in the cache "Landek trošku jinak"; nice TB! 😌

Dropped Off 2/24/2023 Tommy_Laura placed it in Landek trošku jinak Moravskoslezský kraj, Czechia - .11 miles  Visit Log

Laura and I drove to the nearby the Landek park, where we wanted to visit not only a few caches around, but also the most wonderful museum which really blew our mind. This area had us captivated for almost three hours! Apart from the incredible tour we had here, we were also able to go on a short hike while here, during which we visited a few of the local caches. After visiting the fourth oldest geocache in this country, (which was so exciting !!), this multi cache was the last one we visited in this incredible area..! While hiking to this stash, I also snapped a few nice photos of this TB to add to the log. We found this adorable and very thematic cache which definitely deserves a favorite point. This whole area was oh-so-cute and even though you don’t have much to do with mining, you are a train ticket and there are so many trains all around here…! Mining trains, sludge trains, coal trains… All sorts of trains. And in this museum, there’s an incredible amount of coal trains which are really really cool! And so we attached a custom safety tag to you, snapped a photo, and dropped you off at this cache. We hope someone nice will pick you up and show you wonderful new places around the globe! Safe travels!!

A nice place to come to, but not the greatest to drop a bug…!

All things must come to an end, and so does Laura and my little Plan-B road trip over ski break with this TB by our side… We woke up today in Ostrava and with a busy plan ahead of us, went on an amazing coal mine tour, after which we hopped on the highway and with only a handful of stops made our long drive home. I’m really grateful for the few short stops we had, not only to discover new places, but to learn a bit more about this country!

After finally arriving to Ostrava, Laura and I drove directly to the magnificent and beautiful Vitkovice ironworks cultural heritage site, where we not only had lunch, but after that went on a nearly two hour guided tour of the place. I think I won’t ever get tired of coming to this location; this is the most amazing post-apocalyptic urbax and industrial sight I’ve ever seen. Such an amazing place..!

After lunch and the tour, we still had an hour to kill before our booked escape room, and so we did visit three caches here, including one Adventure Lab and a few Waymarks. Two caches successfully found, we made our way to the car and off, but stopped by this stash which we had solved three hours ago using a NFC tag. We found that without issue but at GZ the container seemed like someone had ‘cleaned it up’. Another one of those cases that the hiding spot was obvious, but the container was just not to be found…. Shame.. Now we go onto the city!

After lunch and the tour, we still had an hour to kill before our booked escape room, and so we did visit three caches here, including one Adventure Lab and a few Waymarks. We next returned to the new lookout and ‘multifunctional’ lookout tower christened by Usain Bolt, where we were on the top floor little under an hour ago. We found this very nice homemade cache pretty quickly, it really fit into the scenery! Glad to take this TB to this nano/other-sized cache!

After an amazing evening in Ostrava and just before heading for our last drink to say goodnight to this industrial city, Laura and I walked from our dinner spot to our final drink spot with this TB. It was a brief walk in the nighttime and we had this TB safely with us in my jacket. During our brief walk around nighttime Ostrava, we stopped at one final cache today which was nearby. The last of twelve today, this park cache was a quick and easy pick up with a cute DIY-concrete container. The logbook wasn’t in the best shape, but we were glad we could take this TB to visit one last cache today! Onto a better tomorrow; we have a long drive ahead of us!

After our big success in finding the oldie stash, we got back on the road and bad luck struck. To my dismay, we stopped at two cache sites, but didn’t manage to find either cache after some searching. This was quite a bummer..! And it took up a good 40 minutes from our busy day! Well, at least we’ll visit GZ with this TB..!
