I maintain records on my trackables. For a US-based trackable, this one is unusual for its longevity and movement. In the six-year period, 2010-19, the owner released a total of 3,793 trackables in the United States (96%) and Europe (4%). This trackable is one of the 5% of the total that circulated for at least 5 years and had been moved at least 25 times. That is a target rate of at least five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days. The average drop rate of my trackables in the US is 124 days, in Europe it is 71 days. As of 23-Nov-23 this trackable had survived for 11.9 years and had been moved by 69 cachers, for an average drop every 63 days, or 5.8 drops per year.
Please keep it moving, then drop it in a safe place!
No permission is needed to leave the U.S. While in the U.S., please drop it at an event, in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban, non-premium cache. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and dry, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.
One of the real bargains in Europe is the public transportation, particularly for visitors. One can typically purchase passes like this one for specific periods, like 1, 3 or 7 days, at reduced rates. In many places we have traveled, the transportation passes may include trains, subways, buses, trams, cable cars, lifts, funiculars and boats. In Zurich we got around on subways and trains. On our last day there we rode one of the boats that hauls commuters to stops around Lake Zurich.

After our big success in finding the oldie stash, we got back on the road and bad luck struck. To my dismay, we stopped at two cache sites, but didn’t manage to find either cache after some searching. This was quite a bummer..! And it took up a good 40 minutes from our busy day! Well, at least we’ll visit GZ with this TB..!

We parked by the side of the little forest road here to make it to the oldest cache in the region, in order to help with one of our challenge caches, and were surprised to indeed be in a jungle. This whole are is quite unique and really feels like we’re walking through something a million years old! But after a brief 20 minute walk, we had an adjacent cache as well as the oldest one here! Nice!

We always have a Biltema in our trunk, and so when Laura discovered this cute series of high-up caches, we were delighted that we could stop by here for a quick pit stop. I had to get on my absolute tippytoes to get it down; the cache itself was about 9 meters high. Wow; I’m glad this TB didn’t have to go that high and could stay with us on the ground..!

Today was really not a bad day spent with this TB! While our brief road trip is coming to an end, today is our last full day on the road, with slightly less area to cover, but with all that much more planned. Today we will travel from the south and sleep in Ostrava, where we got to explore the city in much greater depth than on our past brief visits. We also had an escape room and a tour of the Vitkovice ironworks planned for the afternoon, but before that we checked out of our hotel and headed back on the road. To start off with today, we drove north and while staying on countryside roads, we visited these two churches, both of them being beautiful and unique!

Alright, we finally made it! We’re here for this very special cache; the oldest in the country. That’s quite something to say; a listing which has been active for over twenty years! Wow! It was a real joy to hike up this little hill and come to this place, somewhere where geocachers have been coming for nearly 21 years. Quite an honor and a special place to be..! I had a little heart attach when I opened up the cache to which a clear path lead to, because of the trap door. But that didn’t fool me, and I quickly found the loc & lock. After signing our nickname into the logbook, I took the liberty of snapping a photo with this TB. A truly special occasion…!
Although we still had travel plans for the evening, we went on to visit two more caches, but we didn’t manage to log either of them because of closing times. And that made this unexpectedly our last find of the day; but indeed a very special find..! Such a pleasure to end the day like this!

Alright, we finally made it! We’re here for this very special cache; the oldest in the country. That’s quite something to say; a listing which has been active for over twenty years! Wow! It was a real joy to hike up this little hill and visit this special cache, first we stopped by this earthcache which blew our minds!!

While on our Plan-B getaway; Laura and I changed up our plans and headed to the east of the country on our geo-pilgrimage to the oldest of Czech caches, Tex-Czech. While traveling round the country, we went from one oldie to another. After visiting the amazing church, we continued along our drive and stopped by another beautiful landmark. What a pleasure!
