We thought Little Minx would like to visit a site with a little history. This area was a haven for Tuberculosis (TB) sufferers in the 1800s. It was believed that the pure mountain air was curative, so many of the houses had "cure porches" where patients would sit covered in blankets to breathe the fresh air. Quite a number of TB sanitoriums were located in this area, including this site. I also heard a rumor that this was a hippie commune in the 70s but I don't know if that's true!
