Current Goal

To stay safe and scamper around geocaches looking out for tower blocks, friendly dogs and adventurous little girls like the characters in  the orginal Midge's life. Photos of Midge's adventures would be super too.
WARNING: like any rodent, Midge has sharp teeth and a thirst for adventure. Leave him in your backpack for too long and he'll start nibbling!!

now on to mk2,  attached to  a laminayed copy  tag,  still  as special  to me!

About This Item

Midge the Mouse

Midge is a small plush grey mouse keyring attached to a Travel Bug as well as a small keyring that provides details of the mission for those geocachers who do not have instant internet access out in the wilderness!

But who is Midge?

Midge was my favourite character on TV when I was a little badger. We lived in Malvern, UK, and when we drove into Worcester we drove past three tower blocks. I was convinced we would see Mary, Mungo and Midge  coming through the doors!
Mary, Mungo and Midge
is a British animated children's television series, created by the BBC in 1969. The show featured the adventures of a girl called Mary, her dog Mungo, and her pet mouse Midge, who lived in a tower block in a busy town. This programme showed Mary having adventures in a busy town, as opposed to in a wood, forest or other rural setting. The two featured animals were likely to be familiar to town dwellers, as opposed to the array of talking wildlife usually seen in children's television of that era.
In each episode, the three of them would descend in the lift from their flat in the tower block. After their adventures they would return home, Midge would press the button for the lift back to the correct floor, by standing on Mungo's nose.
