About This Item

Bee Travel Bug

In April of 2013 we took a trip out to Colorado to do some hiking and caching.  We brought two trackables with us, the Beetle and the Bee.  We thought it would be interesting if we set them free to race back to a cache we placed a few miles from our house in Youngstown, New York.  Both "travel bugs" are actual insects encased in resin.

Wow, talk about happenstance and serendipity--it has definitely been a bee day for me. First I trade for a cute little stuffed animal depicting three linked baby bees in their hive. Then I get swatted (but happily not stung) by a bee at a cache that is defended at the moment by a swarm of bees. And now I pick up a TB that wants to go to New York that just happens to be a bee. 🙂

Well, we live half time in Chili, NY so--this fine TB will go with us to NY when we return in October. In the meantime--we will take this "bee in amber" and will log it in and out of caches so it will get some mileage. Have to show this one to son HopNSeek--along with my bee stories. Thanks a bunch for this one.

As you likely know, Chili is a bit southwest of Rochester, NY and we have certainly been to Youngstown. We or perhaps our son HopNSeek will try to place this fine bee in the required cache so it can win the race. 🙂
