Am Morgen des 4. Februar 1944 stürzte hier der von der Flak getroffenen amerikanische B-17G Bomber Texas Glad ab. Dabei kamen alle 6 Besatzungsmitglieder ums Leben. Laut Zeitzeugen waren Teile des Flugzeuges bis zu 3 km weit verstreut.
Die B-17, auch Flying Fortress ( Fliegende Festung ) genannt, war eines der größten Flugzeuge des 2.Weltkrieges.
On the morning of the 4th February 1944 crashed here the flak taken by the American B-17G bombers from Texas Glad. Every 6 crew members were killed. According to eyewitnesses parts of the plane were scattered up to 3 km.
The B-17, also called the Flying Fortress (Flying Fortress), was one of the largest aircraft of WW2.
