If (when!) G-ERTI completes her itinerary, Daniel would be very pleased if she could fly back to Bristol.
Daniel would love some photos of G-ERTI on her travels - particularly at airports.
Cabin Pressure is a BBC Radio 4 comedy show, written by John Finnemore, and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Roger Allam, Stephanie Cole and John Finnemore. Their characters - Martin Creiff, Douglas Richardson, Carolyn Knapp-Shappey and Arthur Shappey - run a small airline, MJN Air. Although - as Carolyn points out - the minimum number of aircraft to have an airline is two so MJN Air must be considered more of an air dot.
G-ERTI is the plane at the centre of MJN Air. It can provide seating for 16 passengers plus cabin crew. It is a Lockheed McDonnel 3-12 (a fictional aircraft) and is past its best. 'It's only gaffer tape and hope holding it together'. Some of its faults include faulty lights (not all the non-smoking lights turn off and on, and there's one they can't turn on because it makes the cabin smell of fish). Gerti is so called because it is the registration of the aircraft, G-ERTI.
There appears to be an alarmingly large number of things that make G-ERTI seemingly dilapidated, and it's considered a miracle that she still actually flies. When Linda remarks that she didn't think there were any Lockheed McDonnell 3-12s still flying, Douglas remarks "...those there are, barely do".
There have been four series made; the final episode, Zurich, was broadcast on Christmas Eve 2014.
