Appalachian Trail - Tennessee/North Carolina

Aloha!, an addicted long distance hiker, attempted to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in 2001 but ended the trip early with a broken femur and later a cracked tibia. She returned to her beloved trail in 2003 to complete what she started. With no broken bones Aloha! summitted Mt Katahdin in Baxter State Park, Maine on September 11, 2003. It was a journey unlike any other. A two-section hike was fantastic but it is her hope that she will one day complete a thru-hike of this AWESome trail. Aloha!

Grabbed this at the Burlington WWFM event in Vermont that I hosted. It was a lot of fun! I will take this coin with me during Thanksgiving break when I visit my dad and grandparents, who live in Maine. Thanks!

We drove for quite some time to drop this off in Maine, a state it needed to visit as stated on it's intended mission. We completed one stage of it's mission...now it's the next cachers turn to pick 1 of 5 states remaining on the Apalacian Trail to complete it's mission! Cool coin!
