About This Item

Berghaus Bear

Berghaus is a small cuddly toy bear adorned with Berghaus labels and he is attached to a trackable tag by a metal chain. A keyring is also attached that provides information about the mission for those geocachers who don’t have instant internet access out in the woods.

Berghaus Limited is an outdoor clothing and equipment manufacturer headquartered in the North East of England but distributes worldwide. It was founded in 1966 by climbers and mountaineers Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison. In 1972 they began designing and manufacturing their own product for sale in their shop. They called their brand 'Berghaus' which is a literal translation of 'mountain house' in German.

Well I seem to have messed up!

I logged on 14/5/21 that I had discovered this trackable. Ever since, he has been in my caching gear ready to be placed in a new spot. Today was the day that I found Great View of Somerset GC7EB0R (a super-sized cache) and this is the new home of Berghaus Bear.

Upon coming home I realise that in May, instead of writing I 'discovered' Berghaus Bear, I should have logged that I 'retrieved' him!

Now I'm unble to link him to the new cache, but hopefully the next person to find him will set him back on track.

Apologies badgerbaby, but know Berghaus Bear was well looked after during his stay here.

Retrieved Berghaus Bear today from DOG. What a cute find! It has lost its sash but is in dry, clean condition. I will send it on its way when I find a cache large enough to hold it.
