‘My Cat likes to hide in boxes’ – especially a caching cat like this one! Sergeant Tibbs wants to visit caches everywhere. Photos of his adventures would be fabulous too!
The original Sergeant Tibbs was a metal trackable tag bearing an image of a tabby cat on one side and the tracking number etched on the reverse. Sadly this was stolen from a cache. So here we have a small 3D multi-coloured cat attached to a Copy Tag to keep the memory alive. A keyring is also attached that provides information about the mission for those geocachers who don’t have instant internet access out in the woods.
Sgt Tibbs is the cat from 101 Dalmatians who helps rescue the kidnapped puppies. In the Spring of 2012 a ragged tabby cat arrived on our patio in search of food and cuddles. After several days of eating the cat food we leave out for the hedgehogs, ‘Tabitha’ came to stay. However, on closer inspection Tabitha became Mr Tabs and eventually Sergeant Tibbs! He still graces our home with his presence and muddy paws, repaying the worship, fuss and large quantities of food with rabbits, pigeons and the occasional rat left on the front lawn or patio!
My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes is a very popular New Zealand children’s book, which has also attained popularity in the United Kingdom and Canada. It was written by Eve Sutton and Lynley Dodd. The live Sgt Tibbs prefers laundry baskets full of clean towels and freshly ironed black trousers!
