The Blues ain't about feeling better; it's about making other people feel worse.

―Bleeding Gums Murphy to Lisa

With her Barry sax in tow, Lisa is ready to travel the world in tribute to her hero, Bleeding Gums Murphy. She'd love to get to Springfield, all of the ones all over the world. She'd like to get to Krustland in Orlando and The Williamsburg Bridge and to see the Albuquerque Isotopes. Take lots of pictures of her along the way. I'd love for her to get back to me (GC591G3 or GC593G3) eventually, after a few decades of travel perhaps, so we can debrief.

I met ACED37 at Oxted and we drove to the amusingly named Titsey in Surrey for a new series of caches based on the Carry On films (1958-1992). The humour of Carry On was in the British comic tradition of music hall and bawdy seaside postcards. Lots of innuendo which is obviously why these caches were placed in Titsey. Although the films were very often panned by critics, they mostly proved very popular with audiences. 👙

After a few days in the country, I took you into London for some chores near the Tower of London. 💂🏻‍♂️

No rest for geocachers after a Mega. There were still lots of challenge caches to be found that were released for the SE Mega so I took you to Lullingstone Country Park near Eynsford, Kent. A former deer park of a large estate which was mentioned in the Domesday Survey, it was later sold to become an open-space and woodland park. The park and Lullingstone Castle are a Scheduled Monument and there is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest as well. Very pretty place. 🐞

Started the day with an event advertising the 2025 UK Mega. The moved onto North Chailey in East Sussex to find the Stewart the Seagull geocart. Finished off the day with some pole caches and then an event auction. Fantastic Mega - well done everyone involved. Time to go home. 🐦

Awesome, it’s Mega day. Really great location for it. Lots of room to spread out and perfect weather. Found a circuit of puzzles with Salecy, my friend from Belguim, before returning to the Mega for the labs. Then met up with JassuL who I know from Finland and we did a trad circuit where we miraculously found a brewery with a garden. Had a great rest there. Then it was back to the Mega for a dance party. 💃

After the Piratemania Mega last weekend, it’s now time for the UK Mega which is in South East England this year at Ardingly, West Sussex. Met up with my team at Horsted Keynes and tackled the Flags of Europe Series before heading the beautiful Ouse Valley Viaduct and then on to the Mega area for an event. Lots of new caches to find! 🗺️

There was an event at Paddington so I walked in via Notting Hill to grab a few green dots. Notting Hill is often referred to as 'the most Instagrammable district in London' due to the abundance of photogenic restaurants and pastel-coloured houses. 🤳

My muggle friend wanted to come caching with me. I chose the Thames around Hampton Court Palace because her idea of going caching is not the same as mine. We found four and then it was time for lunch. The building of the palace began in 1514 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, the chief minister of Henry VIII. In 1529, as Wolsey fell from favour, the cardinal gave the palace to the king to check his disgrace. The palace went on to become one of Henry's most favoured residences. 🏰

It’s pretty warm in London at the moment and I was hoping Danson Park in far south east London might be shady but a tedious Wherigo had to be played in the open. The park does have a beautiful oak tree which is over 200 years old. It is known as "Charter Oak", and has been recognised as one of the Great Trees of London. 🌳

Ahoy there. You set to sea and sailed the four wheeled pirate ship to the Piratemania Mega in Berkshire. Piratemania is “the largest gathering of Geocaching Pirates in the UK”. I dare say it might be the ONLY gathering of Geocaching Pirates in the UK too. Lots of bilge sucking geocachers having a fun day looking for all the new caches. 🏴‍☠️
