Current Goal

The ultimate goal of this TB/Coin is to make the journey to England to be photographed in Berwick on Tweed in front of the Town Hall. I flew over to Berwick in 2010 to become a Freeman following in the footsteps of my Grandfather. I signed the same book as he did in 1895. I would like for a Freeman of the town of Berwick who is a Geocacher or related to one have his picture holding this travel bug Then Return to A Cache in Anderson Indiana so we can see its battle scars from its journey. Please post all photo's with your log. As my grandparents were from England, I would like this TB/Coin included in photographs of anything from scotland or England.

About This Item

This is a travel bug dog tag attached to one of our signature P/TH coins. This a commerative coin I made for my Grandfather who fought with the 72nd Seathforth Highlanders in the Boer War in South Africa. He served in India and Egypt also. He was in the Mounted Infantry and recieved a Cape Colony Battle Ribbon and Medal. The picture of him is in their parade dress uniform.

Well after 5 yrs 11months, 5 days and over 18,000 miles we helped this little TB finally achieve it's goal. After a couple of failed attempts at trying to organise one of the Berwick Freemen we decided (with the owners permission) to complete it ourselves.

It was a glorious autumn afternoon, with blue skies when Robert finally arrived at the Town Hall.

It's been our privilege to help this TB on it's final journey, we will dip it at our nearest cache (20meters from our house to finish it's mileage then I'll carry out the owners last request ;)

Thanks for letting us be a part of your Grandfathers journey.

Grabbed this at the North Yorkshire meet not knowing it's mission.

Having now read it's mission and it's 5 1/2 yr journey I feel it's time to complete your mission, We happen to live just 20 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed so it will be an honour to take a photo outside the town hall (although I don't know any Freemen up there but I will make some enquires).

Stay tuned :)
