"Excalibur was the legendary sword of King Arthur sometimes attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of . Excalibur was originally derived from the Latin phrase Ex calce liberatus, "liberated from the stone." There was also a Greek origin, Ex-Kylie-Pyr or "out of a cup—fire" both of which are inscribed on the front of the coin. It is believed that Arthur pulled the sword from the stone confirming his rightful place as King. On the back is one possible Coat of Arms of the legendary King Arthur. Around the side is listed the original 11 Knights of the Round Table: Sir Lancelot, Sir Galahad, Sir Gawaine, Sir Gareth, Sir Bors, Sir Percivale, Sir Tristan, Sir Bedivere, Sir Lamorak, Sir Kay, Sir Geraint and the year 1300 that Arthur was said to have reigned."
