Last cache for today. I think I have about 7 left to find in this series now. As the 2019 Oz GeoMuster is approaching in exactly 3 weeks I think I will wait until then to grab these remaining caches.

I hadn’t collected this Mystery Cache on my previous visit so it was on my radar today, and it was good to see the resident muggle was not on his motorbike at the front gate today. A nice quick p&g and we were quickly gone.

The last Letterbox Cache and after signing the log I get to go back through Broughton Pass toward Wilton and find more caches. The only thing is that it is really late afternoon and soon we will have trouble finding the caches in this district.

With Broughton Pass left behind we gather another smiley find at this Letterbox Cache. The WLS series is a mixture of various caches types and various difficulty types, so that is a real bonus for cachers.

This is the third Letterbox Cache on the ascent up Broughton Pass. In a previous note I mentioned the Cataract River that Broughton Pass crosses. There is a single lane bridge that you drive across. Today we stopped and parked in a little driveway at the end of the bridge, something that I have never done before and that you really can’t do due narrow nature of the road with a drop off on one side and sandstone cliffs on the other. Plus it is somewhat of a busy little road and anything done in a car needs to be done with extreme care so as to not cause an accident. However, the Water Board have a little driveway going into padlocked gates and we slipped in there and parked. I was keen to grab a couple of photos and have a proper look for once instead of doing a drive by.

This is the second Letterbox Cache on the descent down Broughton Pass. Although not very long this is a pretty little Pass that I love coming down through. It crosses the Cataract River which appears partially dammed by a weir or something. It is so pretty there at night with the lights from the pumping station or whatever it is reflecting across the water.

The start of Broughton Pass. As I pulled up at this Letterbox Cache and another car pulled up opposite. They must be cachers we thought, and indeed they were, cachers from Canberra whose names I had seen so many times but never met. A quick hello and goodbye and we were all on our way, primarily as it was quite late in the afternoon and they probably had more caches to get and around a 3 hour trip home.
