How near can this get to military bases, camps, airfields, jungles, swamps, etc.
In 1968, while on tour in Vietnam, I found a US Army medal hanging from a tree branch along a remote trail. This was in the Central Highlands near Pleiku. In hindsight, it was almost like finding today's geocaches. I have no idea how the medal got there, (expert rifle), it is usually worn on a "Class A" uniform which was seldom seen in Nam. After 30 years of setting in my desk drawer, its time for it to see some of the world. Thus, it is now attached to a travel bug.
In memory of our brave warriors then and now.

I placed this guy in a cache on 11/23 and 2 days later a cacher said it was gone. I got so upset I drove back and looked today, and yes it is still there. They just missed it. Its in a baggie that I made for it.

We had this bug to long. We tried to leave it at camp Ibis that was a WWII training area for Pattons troops. All these caches had maybe been muggled so took it back to near Needles Ca. and left it. It could get over to 29 palms real easy from here. Thanks for letting us get to see it and move it along.

I was a combat engineer with the US Army and our entire company was being sent to Vietnam in 1967. They pulled 13 of us out of the ranks and sent us to the Korean DMZ 2nd Infantry Division. I was one of the 13. I lost contact with the others in the Company, however one of the 13 was severly injured with a Korean war explosive. I have one of these rifle badges so know of the memories they contain. I will try and get it closer to its goals. Thanks for the memories.
