About This Item

In 1968, while on tour in Vietnam, I found a US Army medal hanging from a tree branch along a remote trail. This was in the Central Highlands near Pleiku. In hindsight, it was almost like finding today's geocaches. I have no idea how the medal got there, (expert rifle), it is usually worn on a "Class A" uniform which was seldom seen in Nam. After 30 years of setting in my desk drawer, its time for it to see some of the world. Thus, it is now attached to a travel bug.

In memory of our brave warriors then and now.

    I am here visiting my son for the first time since he moved to Portland. This cache is just about a block away from where he lives. Eventhough it says that this is not a good place for a travel bug I found one there and took it. I left a Medal of the Expert. I might be back to move it if I find a better place. I brought it from California and eventhough this placement is not near the goal of the TB I have had it too long, so I thought it would be better to move it along. At least it traveled some miles.
