About This Item

In 1968, while on tour in Vietnam, I found a US Army medal hanging from a tree branch along a remote trail. This was in the Central Highlands near Pleiku. In hindsight, it was almost like finding today's geocaches. I have no idea how the medal got there, (expert rifle), it is usually worn on a "Class A" uniform which was seldom seen in Nam. After 30 years of setting in my desk drawer, its time for it to see some of the world. Thus, it is now attached to a travel bug.

In memory of our brave warriors then and now.

    Retrieved from the Where Eagles Soar cache. Will place my own geocaches in Land O'Lakes area and put this in one of those.

    • The Medal and a wetland I hope this is OK. There aren't any swamps up here, so here's a picture of the medal hanging from a tree. I'm pretty sure this is a bog, though it could possibly be a marsh.
