Current Goal

"Hi, my name is Baldy. I belong to a family who lives in Chino Hills, California (photos below). My goal is to have my photo taken with other kids and/or historical sites from as many STATES as possible in the country. Eventually, I'd even like to make my way to Washington, D.C. I would also be grateful for ANY additional photos of friends and views I enjoy along the way. My family would LOVE to learn about the beauty of our great country and it's people thru postings of my experiences on the road. In December 2007, please return me to: P.O. Box 758, Glendora, CA 91740-0758."

About This Item

Baldy's Family Photo

In the spirit of learning ... American Bald Eagles are members of the hawk family, found in all parts of North America near water. They feed chiefly on dead fish and rodents. Their wing's span up to 7-1/2 feet. They are solitary birds, said to have one mate for life. They build a nest nest of twigs and sticks at a vantage point high in a tree or on a cliff. Nests can become enormous, measuring up to 10 feet across. The American Bald Eagle became the national emblem of the United States by act of Congress in 1782.

Picked Baldy up from my anti-drug. We live on Lake Champlain so I'm sure he can find a few fish to eat here before moving on.

Baldy is a little dirtier than the original picture you have posted, but not bad for traveling almost 5000 miles! Will move along soon.

Well.. this cache was pretty full, and Baldy felt thought he needed more of a view.
He says to me.. he says, "Tim.. I'm a bald eagle.. I'd really rather keep my eye out for some fresh fish in a lake, or keep watch over the east coast lands from high atop a mountain.."
I told him I understood but that I didn't want to keep him too long so that he could get back to Chino Hills where he belongs.. But then he was reading though the log book and mentioned he was concerned that he would be late for his flight back home in December seeing that the last cacher at this site was nearly two months ago.
So we decided to get him out of the woods and find a pretty place that would allow for a little easier commute to the airport for his flight.
We'll hang on to him for a few more days and find a good home for Baldy.
