Was on my way to help start a new batch of mushrooms at a farm and thought that this would be a good place to get Freddie moving again. Wow, was I right! He was clicking up a storm when he saw a real fresh water pond. I wish him well on his future adventures and hope that our paths cross again.

After leaving the mainland we headed out the the Galapagos Islands for the next week. It was one long adventure that we hoped would never end. Every day brought new sights, sounds, and encounters with animals that had no fear of humans. I would encourage anyone with the desire to do their best to visit this wonderful place.

    • Freddie at Darwin's Lake Freddie was looking forward to a fresh water swim in Darwin's Lake. He was quite surprised to find out that the lake was salty, very salty. Sea water leaches in through the porous lava rocks and then evaporates leaving behind the mineral salts and creating a lake that is saltier than the ocean.

Freddie was happy to check into the hacienda, there was a nice water pond to relax by. The day was WILD! A visit to a local Shaman who was working on someone with very bad migrains. There was a lot of chanting in spanish while he smacked her arms and legs with some branches. He also prayed over a table full of various religious items. I heard on the streets that the woman was relieved of her headache and it was still gone two weeks later.

All the hopping at an altitude of 8,000'+ has everyone tired, so we took a slow tour of a local museum and learned about the locals then went on to the "Middle of the World Monument".
