|
This is not collectible.
This is a tile in the game of mahjong called 青發 Qīng Fā or 發財 Fā Cái, meaning "Get rich." It is known as "Green Dragon" (綠龍) in English.
I love to play mahjong! If you're ever in Taiwan, contact me and we'll get four people together to play
The other mahjong tile TBs I own:

Our last cache in Japan was here in Shirakawago, a truly beautiful village filled with Gassho-style houses. These houses have steep, thick thatched roofs and are unlike anything we've ever seen before. And there are rice paddies filling much of the land not occupied by the houses, as you can see in the photo. Shirakawago is a World Heritage site, and many of the houses are on the World Heritage list. And a special treat -- which we passed up -- is ice cream cones coated in gold leaf. This is because this area is a heavy gold producer. 🙂

We enjoyed our visit to the Karato Fish Market here, where professional chefs buy fish and other seafood. Featured here is Fugu (pufferfish), the fish whose reproductive organs contain one of the deadliest poisons known. Preparation of the fish for sushi is therefore very careful, and heavily regulated. Those are Fugu in the sculpture. We also enjoyed the beautiful Akama (Shinto) Shrine nearby.

This was my only cache -- only opportunity, really -- during our one-day visit to South Korea. There's not much left of the old palace now, but I was grateful to find a cache here. 🙂

We very much enjoyed our visit to the Adachi Museum of Art. Photos weren't allowed inside, but the museum also has one of the three finest Japanese gardens in Japan. Hope you enjoy the photo. We also visited nearby Matsue Castle just before stopping here, but I wasn't able to find the geocache there, so I'm showing you a photo of that here, too. 🙂

It was with both interest and great sadness that we visited Hiroshima, the City of Peace. We saw many things. The Atomic Dome is the destroyed building that still stands because it was located just below the atomic bomb detonation, and therefore subject to lower pressures than the surrounding city. The Cenotaph is a beautiful memorial. And the Gate of Peace is a series of 9-meter-high glass torii (gates), each covered with the word "Peace" in 49 languages.

My first cache in Japan was the beautiful Meiji Shrine. Hope you'll enjoy seeing it. We were on a 16-day visit, consisting mainly of a coastal cruise around Japan's main island, with a brief stop in Honshu and in South Korea.

And here we are, back in the U.S. No photo, as it's not a photogenic cache, but now the trip is over and the mileage is correctly recorded. Thanks for coming along. I hope you enjoyed the trip.
I'll now re-evaluate the set of fellow travelers I've been carrying around. Some I'll keep carrying, and some I'll place in caches, as I have too many. If you have a particular preference about what I do with yours, please let me know, though I'll take it as advisory (except for a couple that I'm carrying for friends, which I'll definitely continue to carry unless requested otherwise).
Next trip is Japan and South Korea, in May.

Here's a photo from within Postojna Cave, a very large (10-15 minute train ride in, long walk, and ride out) cave. It's impressive in size, and has lots of interesting formations. Here's one of the oldest and tallest stalagmites.
I'm also posting a photo of Predjama Castle, and spectacular castle constructed mostly with a cave. Alas, snow cover prevented me from finding the geocache there, but I thought you might enjoy seeing it.
