    I decided a few days ago to get started on the Hidden Creatures challenge. A bit late since it ends in 4 days, but why not? Urban caches seemed to be the way to go... and there are a bunch that I had never stopped to look for so here goes!

    Finally! After shopping nearby, there were no muggles hanging out nearby. The last few times, there were people enjoying the various benches and poking around did not seem like a good idea. Tonight was finally my chance.

    I came by on a humid afternoon and waited out a muggle going by on his bike... Grabbed the cache and signed the log, returned it to its place and turned around to see the same muggle already coming back. Hopefully two geodogs near the trees and bushes was enough cover?

    I first tried to find this at night. With 3 geodogs. Chip with arthritis, deaf, and a pacemaker. Two wanting to explore and hunt by moonlight. Not recommended. Came by again during a humid evening (and now, sadly only two geodogs) and had much more (safe) success with sunlight to help guide my way. Mika and Hina did some sniffing and exploring as I found and signed the log.

    I went down to Chula Vista to referee judo at the Cal State Games today. Since I was pretty far south (about 5 miles north of the California/Mexico border), I took a moment to look for a geocache. In a busy little park across the street from the high school, I found I was tall enough to reach a little bison tube about 6' up!

    We came to this little man made lake for a short evening walk with a friend her geodog... Irvine has many beautiful parks and this one is no exception. Ducks, turtles, and tons of people out to enjoy the SoCal weather!

    We stopped by to check out this park as a potential location for a group picnic next month. It's great! A few little lakes, tons of picnic tables, playgrounds, walking paths, places to fish and boats to rent. Just the place to unwind after a UKI agility trial nearby. Mika and Hina provided excellent cover as I searched for the geocache. Either that, or they held their stays in anticipation of a treat. Either way, cache was found, and doggos got treats.
