  • PopamaticMobile below the cache Taken from the top of Outlaw Rock, this view shows the road in and where I parked. Withoout the pop/min mobile, it wouldn't have been possible to visit this cool place in the New Mexico desert.
  • Back from the cache Getting back to the parking spot after climbing down from the rock. This is a really cool area with dry waterfalls nearby in the canyons and lots of barrel cacti.

The PopamaticMobile went for another glorious day of caching and hiking in the New Mexico desert/mountains. Without the p-mobile it would not have been possible to visit this cool area of the Robledo Mountans.

The p-mobile went for a long drive up near Truth or Consequences and out in the middle of the desert near the new Spaceport America. The parking spot in the photo is about five miles from the first launchpad. Part of the dirt road follows the El Camino Real used by Spaniards since the 1500's until recently. Sunny and warm, that's the way to be.

  • Near the El Camino Real The Popamaticmobile as seen from the Coyote Cache. Off to the right, five miles out of the photo, are the beginnings of the Spaceport America. You can't see anything yet from here.

Got the Pop/min mobile dirty on the gravel roads leading up to the Organ Mountains. Went a little way up the mine road, but parked soon, as it was getting a little ruff. Lots of fun and handy getting to cool places.

  • Popamaticmobile in the desert My parking spot, with the Organ Mountains in the background. The location of the Jeep Hood cache is marked, I walked up to it from here, you can just see the old mine road in places. No dogs, snakes, deer, cougar, ocelots, snails, or grizzlies were seen on this hike. About a dozen hummingbirds were spotted, though.

It's the weekend, so I must be hiking at Deer Creek. This time it was the Homesteader and the loop around the mountain trails. More snow has fallen. Will move this bug along to another place. It still has little white hairs in it.
