Current Goal

This travel bug wants to go to a geocache near Trondheim, Norway to visit a friend of ours. Then, this travel bug would like to go to as many parts of Europe as possible before coming back to the United States and dropped of in a geocache in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

About This Item

This travel bug is a piece of the Austin Chalk from North Texas. It actually contains some ammonite (nautilus-like fossil) and gryphaea (oyster-type fossil) fragments. Our friend in Norway is a geologist who my wife and I worked with when we were working geologists. An outcrop of the Austin Chalk at Lake Texoma was one of the first places we visited when we all met back in the early 80's working for an oilfield service company in Dallas, Texas.

MaxB's Tour had 2 special TB's "Homesick Mickey" from the Netherlands, and "GeoPirat Night Shift IV" from Germany who wanted to make a quick stop at this Classic American Cache. Ausin Chalk whose goal is to travel to Norway wanted to claim this cache for his history as well. They will all be continuing on with MaxB for now.

Austin is attnding the conference for former "Rock, Paper, Scissors" champions. Everyone watched the replay on ESBN Classic (Every Sport Bug News), of his final dulling of the Pinking scossors in the 1992 finals.
