    I happened upon an obscure historical landmark way the heck off the beaten path. And bonus: there was a cache there 😉 Took some pictures and left Kwai Chang in the cache.

    Beveridge was an 1870's gold camp in the Inyo Mountains west of Death Valley. It may be the remotest mining district in the lower 48. The burro trail up was a sustained 25% grade, the absolute maximum for a loaded burro. The trail down from the ridge to the mining camp was a 30% grade. This geocache took 14 hours to climb 7000 feet and return.
