My friend and I are big Dim Sum fans and apparently Sunshine has one of Melbourne’s best dim sum places so out we headed. Pretty good. The town was originally called Braybrook Junction until 1907 when it was renamed Sunshine in honour of the Sunshine Harvester Works in 1907. The agricultural equipment maker was once the largest manufacturing plant in Australia. 🥟

Just taking it easy on another walk around Werribee. The name "Werribee" originated from the Victorian Aboriginal name for the Werribee River, Wirribi-yaluk in Wathawurrung and Boonwurrung - wirribi meaning "backbone" or "spine" and yaluk means stream. 🪃

CuteOtter and I took you for a walk along the beautiful Werribee River. It originates in the Wombat State Forest on the Great Dividing Range, and flows for about 110 kilometres south-east to the Port Phillip Bay. I’m yet to see a platypus here although there is meant to be some but there were plenty of birds today. 🦜

Across town to St Kilda for an event this morning. Gorgeous day in Melbourne and lovely to be at the beach. It’s home to the historic amusement park, Luna Park, with its Scenic Railway rollercoaster (1912), which is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in the world. 🎢

A trip to the beach at Point Cook Coastal Park for you today. Good view of the planes landing at the air base nearby. Point Cook is the birthplace of the Royal Australian Air Force and is the oldest continually operating military airfield in the world. 🏖️

You rode the gondola to Ngong Ping on Lantau Island. Very scenic trip because you get to see the planes taking off and landing at the airport and then several waterfalls on the hills. Once at the top, you climbed 268 steps to visit the Big Buddha. It’s 34 m high and is the second largest seated Buddha in the world. Somewhat unsurprisingly, it faces in the direction of Beijing. 🪷

歡迎來到香港 Welcome to Hong Kong! I was hoping for some more caches in Hong Kong but I failed the Chinese Government’s ‘Real Name Registration’ for using my personal wifi. Very frustrating. You spent your time finding the best cheung fun street stall and watching the lights turn on from Victoria Peak. Then you caught the Star Ferry back to Kowloon to watch the light show. 🇭🇰

Time to wrap up your visit to the Philippines. CuteOtter and I decided to visit BGC one last time (this visit) but made the mistake of getting lunch before we geocached. By the time we’d finished lunch, it was pouring. Waited for it to let up a bit before we grabbed a cache and called time. Find your passport again. ☔️

I headed to BGC to meet up with RunYell and do some caching. I like caching with him because he teaches me about Manila and knows good places to eat. Watched the dancing fountains after dark to finish off the night. ⛲️
