Originally, I wanted this trackable to stay in the greater Birmingham area. I was looking to move three states away for college, and leaving something behind for the Chelsea geocaching community was important to me. But plans change. Scholarships fall through, opportunities arise, priorities shift. Now, I’m not worried about where this trackable ends up. Part of leaving a real legacy is making the best of wherever you are, and even if that legacy is no bigger than a log on a cache page, it still means something to the people rooting it on. So there are no longer any limits on this bug. Deep woods of Alabama, flat pastures of Texas, parking lots in Minnesota—doesn’t matter to me, as long as it keeps moving.
This trackable is a set of photographs with the words “Thanks 2018” written at the bottom, plus a small Chelsea pin. This city has been my home for most of my life. I’ve done a lot here over the years, everything from learning instruments to opening my own business. This year was host to lot of key steps—earning Eagle Scout, starting a college search, placing my first cache in 6 years, finishing my last season of football, getting my license (a bit later than usual), taking on new leadership roles, entering my senior year, and everything in between. So thanks, 2018...
