This travel bug is attached to my geocaching backpack, and gets checked into and out of every geocache that I visit. I hope for it (and me with it) to log visits in all of the Northeastern USA, as well as some of the other states, and a number of other countries.
A blue Mountainsmith backpack, normally attached to a big guy with a GPS and a Backwoods cigar cruising through the countryside.
I generally bring the following with me, I have a geo-backpack I leave packed:
- GPS Unit
- First-aid kit
- duct tape
- cell phone
- wallet with cash and cards and license
- lighter
- backwoods cigars
- Leatherman Multi-tool
- whistle
- compass
- digital camera
- cache repair kit
- Pen, pencil, paper, personal logbook
- goodies for trade
- Water (16 ounce nalgene bottle and 96 ounce nalgene canteen)
- printouts of all caches to be visited (with topozone maps), or my pda with same
- spare batteries for GPS and camera
- tp and tiny shovel
- gloves
- baseball cap
- lightweight long underwear
- jerky and hard candy
- emergency blanket
- 2 garbage bags
- pre-made cache for spur-of-the-moment hiding
I bring the pack with me unless the cache is 100 yards (or less) from my car when I park.
