Visited 11/29/2022 Monski took it to Mound Hedge Manicure at Horsbere Southern England, United Kingdom - 2.71 miles  Visit Log

A grey day but it did stay dry, still glad to have my waterproofs on as there was a lot of kneeling.

Fantastic to see the trees doing so well, despite the dry 4 months we had.

We could almost hear the collective sighs of the trees as they were released and freed from the bunny guards or deer guards.

Managed to get a good section completed, I know what we will be doing in January!

Visited 11/25/2022 Monski took it to Rampant Scrub Removal at Green Lane Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.46 miles  Visit Log

Beautiful sunshine greeted us and having tooled up we all set to work. Luckily(?) it was very easy to spot where we had left off and so we resumed our previous positions and set to work.

Some spots were definitely easier due to our ministrations the previous years and some other places it fought back a bit.... But come the end of the CITO..... Plus a bit of extra time..... And then stoppages we finally conquered and ruler supreme. TFTCito

Visited 11/23/2022 Monski took it to We're off to Whomp some Willow Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.51 miles  Visit Log

It was chilly to start but the sun was just starting to make an appearance. Of course as soon as I set to work cutting back last year's growth I soon got toasty and so off came the hat and coat! Beautiful weather..... Or it was until .... The ominous dark clouds rolled in, then a sprinkling of rain turning to heavier hail stones, then a flash of lightning, a clap of thunder and then bookended with more hailstone ... And there I was having a good old giggle about the absurdity of it.... Whilst obviously still cutting away at the willow.

A fabulous job was done, especially by those searching for last year's piles! Again real impact was made when we looked back and saw that area clear of willows.

Visited 11/18/2022 Monski took it to Winter Warmer #33 - Celebration and Skittles! Southern England, United Kingdom - 3.08 miles  Visit Log

Arrived just after three start time to find everyone plunged in darkness....turns out there was a power outage. All good though as it made killer skittles all the more interesting.

Snufflepig thoroughly enjoyed herself, as I'm sure you all heard 🤣. Thank you for making it kid friendly and for a lovely enjoyable time.

It was great to have time to chat with my fellow cachers. TFTE

Visited 11/18/2022 Monski took it to Removing Rubus from the Route at Green Lane Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.69 miles  Visit Log

A lovely sunny day, at one stage I even took my coat off!

The technique of cutting and stomping on the Rubus from inside the fence was still a winner and actually it's made today's progress so much easier. I'd say we are very close to half way, which is fantastic.

Sadly I wasn't allowed to trim any trees it was just the scrub we were focusing on today....maybe next time!

Visited 11/16/2022 Monski took it to Tree Care because We Care Southern England, United Kingdom - 2.66 miles  Visit Log

Arrived nice and early and just as well as I had to leave by the half time break. Well I couldn't leave before then as I heard there was cake .....and as was rightly pointed out to me CITO stands for cake in the outdoors!

First we set about planting the 750 bulbs, I guess we must have been going grease lightning as blink and they'd all be planted.. Can't wait to see their little green tips come up in subsequent late winter.

We then were prepped for trimming around the trees, but we spotted that the recent strong winds hadn't been kind and had knocked over quite a few guards and stakes so whacking them in became priority.

All too soon break time was called and it was time for me to leave.

Fantastic morning and beautiful weather. TFTCito

Visited 11/13/2022 Monski took it to Car Park Clearance at Alney Island : Part 2 Southern England, United Kingdom - 2.76 miles  Visit Log

I arrived late to the party, still better than Snufflepig who stayed in the car!

As it turns out I made it just in time to sign the logbook and eat cake, perfect ☺️. Thought I'd better earn my keep so having received my orders off I went. fizzwhizz trampled and I snipped and soon enough our euro tunnel had connected, perfectly aligned.

Time to try another connection so off to the gate we went to see if we could make a whole new tunnel to Iceland (?) Ireland (?)....anyway it basically meant that we cleared along the inside fence before meeting up with yazceleste.

Looking forward to the next stage I believe a shovel is needed....not sure my digging spade will be the tool for the job. TFTE and cake of course 😁

Visited 11/13/2022 Monski took it to Hacking away on the Horse Highway Southern England, United Kingdom - 21.61 miles  Visit Log

What an amazing turn out and beautiful weather!

On the run up to the day I was checking in with the countryside ranger confirming the number of tools that were needed, well as it was I was messing her almost hourly with a request for one more set off loppers!

Luckily being on Robinswood Hill we could use the buggy for tool transportation which made life lovely and easy, especially when all those that had logged turned up :).

The task was nice and straightforward .... commit carnage against the encroaching growth and I think we did a great job of it.

Soon enough our time was up, but it was fabulous to see the sun hitting the floor where before it couldn't due to dense growth.

Visited 11/12/2022 Monski took it to Glow in the dark(NIGHT PUZZLE CACHE) Southern England, United Kingdom - 1.33 miles  Visit Log

In the area having attended an event and then a night cache, couldn't resist grabbing this one too. The puzzle was quickly solved and then at GZ we had a bit of a search, but it was soon spotted.

It needed a bit of charging but we soon got it going to show the crew. TFTC

Visited 11/12/2022 Monski took it to A Winter's Trail Southern England, United Kingdom - 7.09 miles  Visit Log

Having had a full on caching day I decided to extend it with this night cache.

We'd come prepared with our wellies and torches. Luckily a quiet decamp of the car meant that I don't think we'd upset too many of the locals.

At the coordinates we zero'd in on the likely item and sure enough there were the instructions, lovely and clear.

Mar set her compass and off we went. Well we soon spotted the markets and had a lovely walk about. The instructions on the cache page made sure we turned direction when we needed to and is sure enough, after a bit of encouragement the hiding place revealed the cache.

A great starter night cache and perfect for introducing it to our crew who'd not attempted one before. TFTC
