I was on my way to a St. Louis county park camping event. I can't pass up a TB Hotel so I grabbed this one. I'll be planning an out of state trip soon.

I may not take it far, but I'm visiting a few caches tomorrow and if I come across one I will place. Nice handwriting on the identification card.

We thought it would be a good idea to leave our beaver buddies in eastern Ontario somewhere and this little TB Hotel is the first cache we've found that could accommodate them.
It's been fun hosting you, Beaver E (our apologies for keeping you so long and taking so long to register where you've been/add photos)! Safe travels!

In the Thousand Islands region, the Beavers visited 1000 Islands Tower on Hill Island with us. The tower is about 130 metres (400 ft) tall! The attached picture shows the beavers with the tower in the background, as well as a view from the top.

Another thing in our Top 150 Unusual Things to See in Ontario book is the ruins of St. Raphael's Church in eastern Ontario. It's only about 15 minutes away from the Quebec boundary. This big old church was built in the 1820s, but the inside of it was destroyed by a fire in 1970. The stone walls survived though, and the ruins are now a National Historic Site. The congregation decided to leave the ruins standing for people to come and visit (they have been stabilized), and they built themselves a new church just beside the old one.

MrNolan was born in Hamilton. One thing that a lot of people even here in southern Ontario don't know is that Hamilton is the Waterfall Capital of the World (or the City of Waterfalls)! Because of its position on the Niagara escarpment, Hamilton has an unusual amount of waterfalls. According to the Smithsonian Institute, there are more than 150 of them within the city limits! Here are just a few of them!

Closer to home than our last adventure, we explored the Cheltenham Badlands. MrsNolan gets really excited when she finds heart shapes that have been made by nature (or by accident) like this heart-shaped stone she found on our hike!

Our beaver buddies came along on a quick trip across the border! We had a couple of things we had to do in the Buffalo/Niagara are of New York state, and we managed to fit in a quick hike and a geocache! We hiked a trail called Eternal Flame Trail in Chestnut Ridge Sate Park. It took us to a waterfall called Eternal Flame Falls, which has-- you guessed it!-- a natural eternal flame that burns inside the waterfall! There wasn't much water flowing when we were there, but it was still pretty cool to see!
