Healing Heart wants to travel the world. It is a symbol of hope, love and peace. It reminds each of us of how fragile life can be.

About This Item

This travel bug is an actual heart from an art project entitled: The Healing Heart Project. It is a nationwide collaborative artwork created in response to 9/11.

The "Hearts", one for each victim, have been shown several times in Connecticut and New York City. After the 3rd anniversary of 9/11, the artwork was dismantled and will no longer be shown in its entirety. The "Heart" you are holding was made by an individual in the months following 9/11 to honor those who parished. June Ahrens, the artist, says, "I strongly believe that each 'Heart' will land where it's supposed to over time."

AA Team thought that this heart would make an excellent Travel Bug for our extended GEOCACHE FAMILY!!! Please take pictures of its travels...

    Found this TB in a very unlikely place. Seems it has been traveling far and wide without being logged! Being Thanksgiving Day, I would like to extend my thanks to all those who helped the victims of the 9/11 tragedy, and my heart to all the families and friends of those victims. May peace follow this heart on all of its travels.

    This is really a great TB. I'll have to show it to my art teacher wife who teaches at Quaboag Regional... This is close to home for me too as I had a customer in the South Tower (Network Plus) who I would visit from time to time. Thankfully, all my business assoiciates made it out safely but they each knew several who had perished in the attack... I was there in June 2001 and was planning a return trip for the end of September.... We need to continue to pray for the families who were torn apart in this tragedy. That's what this heart TB means to me.
