Photo taken in Woodland Park, Colorado, where we live and close to our home, have a very good view of Pikes Peak. At 14,115 feet (4302 meters), Pikes Peak was the inspiration to Katharine Lee Bates who, in 1895, wrote "America the Beautiful". In the attached photo, Pikes Peak is the tallest mountain, near the center of the picture. Also, Pikes Peak is the site of the second oldest auto race in the US – the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC), second only to the Indianapolis 500. The PPIHC celebrated its 100th anniversary on June 26, 2016 and because the race was not run in a few years, the 100th running of the race was held on April 26, 2022. The construction in the foreground is a new tire shop that is being built on what used to be terrain that was never developed.

I’m on an adventure to complete my Jazmer. Joining me on my adventure are my father (CanoePaddler) and my sister (PurpleCatPaws). I drove up from San Antonio and they flew from Connecticut to DFW where we began our trek. We are on our way to get Mingo and then come back via a different route. I’m also trying to find other caches to help with challenge caches I’ve found but haven’t accomplished yet. This cache will help with those! TFTC!
