To find the oldest and best geocaches.
The Cache Historian, like all old-timers, believes that the best caches were hidden long ago, like maybe in '00-'02. He wants to visit any of these historic caches to savor the experience. After all, if they're still up and drawing cachers by now, they've got something going for them. He definitely does not want to be left in some tacky urban cache where someone tossed a tupperware container under a bush. If you find him in one of these, genuflect and rush him somewhere else! On the other hand, he is academic enough to realize that there may be EXCELLENT caches that have been recently hidden. (His definition of an EXCELLENT cache is one that takes at least 30 minutes to get to and has some interesting natural scenery on the way.) Can you help him write some Geocaching History?

Picked up the coin so it can go with us on a trip down the south shore later this week!
Cache Historian is now on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, not far from Peggy's Cove, the famous N.S. fishing village (and also unfortunately site of SwissAir 111 disaster). Cache has been in place since 2001, pretty old for this part of the world.
Picked up Cache Historian from top of Skull rock. Our first Geocoin! Will search for a cache of sufficient longevity and move it along soon.
I was waiting for a good reason to visit this cache. It's quite a hike in and up a great trail. One of the 10 oldest caches in the area. Sailor

Had to hike a long way in to get this one. But the view was worth the hike. Now I will have to find another old cache to put it in. Sailor
Will move it on to a cache that was hidden in June 2001.
Got it.
