Retrieve It from a Cache 8/21/2009 ReefPilot retrieved it from SEA Short Layover Washington   Visit Log

It was on a short layover in SEA. We got in ontime last night, just late in the evening. I had to get up extra early as our pilot schedule for September are out and starting at 8am CT, we can trade/add/drop/improve them online. 8am CT = 6am PT. After I improved my schedule a little bit, I went out to do a little maintenance on the cache I own near the hotel. I am a little frustrated because the nano cache's logbook I own here continues to get filled up prematurely. I understand that the logbook inside a nano cache can be a true pain, but why do people insist on taking up 1/3 of the logbook making their entry. How about simply entering a short date and initials?? I own several nano caches throughout N/S America and somehow the log entries on this cache continue to be a problem.

Day 2 - The rain started in the middle of the night, fortunately we were complete dry inside the RV. Scrambled-eggs, hash-browns, cinnamon-rolls and coffee to start the day. Since we had done so much walking yesterday and seen a good portion of Wild River park, we decided to take the very short drive down to Interstate State Park (MN) in Taylor's Falls MN. The rain was on and off all day, but we were able to walk around Interstate a bit. Amazing "pothole" rock formations caused by the glacier rivers. Three caches for the day, including our State Park Wildlife Safari #6. Checked out/found the cool Earthcache, "Glacial Gardens Earthcache" (GCND0F) The day was wet, but we had a great day.

Day 1 - Began a 2-day RV camping adventure starting at Wild River State Park (MN). Myself, wife, our 2 young boys and the in-laws (who came to visit from Missouri). Our two 90 pound German Shepherds didn't come along on this trip. Arrived early on this beautiful day, set up camp, went out for a 5.5 miles hike along the beautiful state park trails on the St. Croix river. Found the only 3 traditional caches in the park, including our State Park Wildlife Safari #5. Burger, pasta salad and coleslaw for dinner. Ended the evening around the campfire with some great smores.

Another day of caching back home in Minnesota. 5 hr, 13.3 miles bike ride with the boys. Rode from Victoria, MN to Excelsior, MN along the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail. Had a picnic lunch on the shores of Minnetonka, followed up ice cream cones. Found 11 geocaches along the way. 2 yr old rode along in the Burley attached to my recumbent trike, 5 yr old rode solo. Amazed he could bike that far. What a great day!
