bluepant: Retiring many of my caches to open up spots for new caches. I haven't had time to go caching or maintain my caches lately. This series was fun. Once I get time to cache again, I'll be hiding some new ones.

Geocache Description:

About This Cache:

New York Jets

(AFL: 1960 – 1969
NFL: 1970 - Present)

1968 AFL-NFL Super Bowl Champions (III)

Five Facts about the New York Jets:

·         Bill Parcells is the only coach to have coached as an away team in his own home stadium for two different teams. He did this for the New York Giants when they played away against the New York Jets, and then he did it again as the coach of the Jets when they played away against the Giants.

·         In 1967, Joe Namath became the first professional Quarterback to pass for over 4,000 yards.

·         Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to start his career out with a record of 3-0.

·         The New York Jets were originally known as the New York Titans for their first three years until they were sold to a new ownership group who named them the Jets.

·         Neither the New York Jets or the New York Giants play any of their games in New York, they both play in New Jersey..

Now about the cache: Week 3: Slight change of pace. Within our series we plan on throwing a few different types of caches out there, so here is a puzzle for you. This puzzle is not the most challenging puzzles out there; however it will take some time/research to obtain the numbers. This cache is not a park and grab of any kind. The coordinates posted are not where the cache is located. To obtain the location of the final cache, solve the additional trivia listed below and solve the puzzle. The cache is hidden in typical fashion, but the hike to the cache might prove to be slightly more challenging just as the road the super bowl tends to be. Muggles should not be that much of a problem on this one. One thing to note, this cache is not accessible from I85! Do not attempt to retrieve from I85! Remember to keep track of your playbook for the series.

About The Series:

"ROAD TO THE SUPER BOWL"

Welcome to the NFL football season. What would the NFL season be like without a new football cache series to find? Throughout the football weeks, bluepant and mob1971, will be hiding a series of different style NFL team caches. These caches hope to excite the football fanatics and also teach the not so football savvy some things about each team. These caches will provide clues and information to our Super Bowl cache finale called "Road to the Super Bowl"

PRESEASON GAMES (Teaser caches, does not include the needed hints for the series finale cache):
DALLAS TEXANS and CANTON BULLDOGS

Series Finale:
Stage 1 – Playbook
Stage 2 – Super Bowl

Each cache will contain a trivia question about that team that could be critical to finding the final cache "Road to the Super Bowl". Please make sure you take time to read your playbook and keep up with the questions and answers in preparation for the FINAL exam. Please DO NOT POST any of the answers or questions in your logs. If you have any questions regarding the trivia questions, feel free to email bluepant or mob1971. The FINAL playbook will contain a variety of questions from the above caches in order to obtain the "Road to the Super Bowl" coordinates (HINT: Answers to FINAL playbook will come from a number of caches you found during the season, so I would hate for you to try to skip one or two of the caches and miss a question). Have fun and enjoy this series.
