Tanse Mowitsh(Dancing Deer)
was beginning to get very tired of sitting by Tenas Itswoor (Little
Bear) on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she
had peeped into the book her brother was reading, but it had no
pictures or conversations in it, `and what is the use of a book,'
thought Tanse Mowitsh `without pictures or
conversation?'
So she was considering in her own mind (as well
as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and
stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be
worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when
suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.
There was nothing so very remarkable in
that; nor did Tanse Mowitsh think it so very much out of the
way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, `Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be
late!' The Rabbit actually took a watch out of its
waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on out of
sight.

These coordinates will get you to a place to
park. At this time there is limited parking. Please take care when
leaving. Sight to and around the corner is very restricted. If you
can, you might want to try parking by backing in. With its 34 acres
of surrounding woodlands, streams, and salt marsh, the area known
as Nick's Lagoon forms a complete ecosystem, providing habitat for
some of the region’s most sensitive salmon species. The community
approached Trust for Public Land (TPL) to help prevent this area
from being developed into residential subdivisions. The Kitsap
County Parks and Recreation Department acquired the property, which
will be used as a park and environmental education
site.
If you are out for a day of
