Geocache Description:

This is a spawner cache inspired by Fugglestone’s Hall of Dead Presidents (GC1W1AP).

Inside the cache you will find thirteen cards featuring a somewhat eccentric collection of scientists. Because there were not many scientists in the pack (all the kings are Louis Pasteur, for example), I have printed the names of some other scientists on slips of paper and placed them inside a preform to keep them dry and cozy.

If you like to hide caches, take a scientist and create a cache in his or her name, otherwise you’re not obligated to take a name. If you are not sure what to do, look at one of the Dead President caches and use it as a model.

If none of the people I've listed in the cache appeal to you, feel free to honor another scientist with a cache. I have created one for Niels Bohr, the Danish physicist who was also a great teacher.

Email me when you choose a scientist (or simply mention it in your log), whether s/he is one from the cache or one you have chosen yourself, and I will record your “reservation” online. When you have placed your cache, email me again and I will include a link to it in this cache description.

Please be sensitive to the fact that there are schools at the opposite end of the street from this cache. Strangers (like us!) on school property are apt to arouse suspicion and invite attention from school and law enforcement officials who have more important things to do. Bear in mind that you need not go any closer to the schools than the stop sign at the Jericho Road end of School Street and you'll save everyone time and the possibility of unpleasantness--and preserve the reputation of geocaching. Remember the terrain rating. If the ground under your feet is steep, you're lost.
