Geocache Description:

This cache was created to celebrate the wedding of our daughter. The area holds sentimental value as there is a facility near by that figures prominently in the wedding.

Congrats to RH2 and strega13 for First-to-Find!

The area has a tradition of being a place where the pioneers met to picnic, exchange goods, and share experiences during the years of settlement. Saturdays and Sundays were dedicated to celebrate various events such as a wedding, the harvest or a religious holiday. In the rush which is our life today, we often forget about the more relaxed, simpler times when social gatherings were more than just a show of wealth, but a real opportunity to connect with others and share the fruits of the land and their labour. Weddings were very special events as they represented a hope for the future of the society and the birth of a new generation... thoughts always on the minds of early settlers as they struggled with daily life and death issues. Thankfully these concerns are not part of our daily life.
